Life saving formulations - 122/86 - Central Excise - TariffExtract Life saving formulations Notification No. 122/86-C.E. Dated 1-3-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts patent or proprietary medicaments falling under sub-heading No. 3003.19 of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986), and containing one or more of the ingredients specified in the Annexure hereto appended, from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon which is specified in the said Schedule. Nothing contained in paragraph 1 shall apply to any 2. medicament which contains any ingredient not specified in the said Annexure unless the ingredients in the medicament are pharmaceutical necessities such as diluents, disintegrating agents, moistening agents, lubricants, buffering agents, stabilisers and preservatives : Provided that such pharmaceutical necessities are therapeutically inert and do not interfere with the therapeutic or prophylactic activity of the ingredient or ingredients specified in the said Annexure. Trimothoprim with Sulpha-methoxazole. 6. Metformin HCl. 28. Miconazole. 7. Tinidazole. 29. Salbutamol Sulphate. 8. Diphenoxylate HCl. 30. Terbutaline Sulphate. 9. Loperamide. 31. Theophylline, Aminophylline and their derivatives. 10. Phthalyl Sulphathiazole. 32. Methyl Dopa. 11. Sulphaguanidine. 33. Propranolol. 12. Furazolidine. 34. Dipyridamol. 13.
