Notification No. 86/99-Cus. Dated 6-7-1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 154/94-Customs, dated the 13th July, 1994, namely :- In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) against serial number 3, in column (3), - (a) for condition (iv), the following condition shall be substituted, namely˙:- "(iv) The import of the said goods does not exceed Rs. 60,000 in value or 15 units in number, within a period of twelve months; and"; (b) in condition (v), - (1) in clause (A) for sub-clause (b), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely :- "(b) the total import value of samples does not exceed Rs. 60,000 or 15 units in number, within the period of the last twelve months; and,"; (2) In clause (B), for the word, brackets and letter "sub-clause (A)", the word, brakets and letter "clause (A)" shall be substituted; (ii) against serial number 5, in column (3), - (a) for condition (ii), the following condition shall be substituted, namely :- "(ii) the value of the said samples or prototypes does not exceed rupees five thousand; and,"; (b) for Explanation, the following Explanation shall be substituted, namely :- "Explanation. - For the purpose of condition (ii), postal charges or the air-freight shall not be taken into account for determining the value limit of rupees five thousand".
