Amendment to Notification No. 522/86-Cus.[ Ch. 72] Notification No. 193/89-Cus. Dated 30-6-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 66 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that in the interest of the development of the domestic automobile industry it is necessary so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 522/86-Customs, dated the 31st December, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (i) in the opening paragraph, - (a) in sub-clause (i) of clause (a), for the figures and words "25 per cent ad valorem", the figures and words "35 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted; (b) in sub-clause (i) of clause (b) for the figures and words "70 per cent ad valorem", the figures and words "80 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted; (ii) in paragraph 2, for the figures, letters and words "30th day of June, 1989", the figures, letters and words "30th day of June, 1990" shall be substituted.
