Notification : No. SO 832(E), dated 10 ‑ 11 ‑ 1986. Subject:- Exemption from holding annual general meeting to companies whose registered offices are situated in Punjab and which have foreign nationals as directors/shareholders S.O. 832(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by the first proviso to sub‑section (2) of section 166 of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), the Central Government hereby exempts the companies whose registered offices are situated in the State of Punjab and which have foreign nationals as directors or shareholders, from holding their annual general meetings at their registered offices or at any other place within the cities, towns or villages in which the registered offices of such companies are situate subject to the condition that every such company shall, within fifteen days from the date of holding the annual general meeting, furnish to the Registrar of Companies, Punjab, details of the date and venue of such meeting and the names of the foreign nationals, who attended the said meeting. The exemption shall remain valid up to 31st December, 1986.
