NOTIFICATION NO. SO 857(E), DATED 9-12-1996, ISSUED BY DEPARTMENT OF COMPANY AFFAIRS, MINISTRY OF FINANCE Subject:- Section 4A(2) of the Companies Act, 1956 - Public financial institutions - Notified public financial institutions S.O. 857(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 4A of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), the Central Government hereby specifies the following institution to be a public financial institution and for that purpose makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs (Department of Company Affairs), No. S.O. 1329, dated 8th May, 1978, namely: In the said notification, after entry 36, the following entry shall be added, namely: "37. Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited".
