Rescinds the sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Mount Poonamalee High Road, Aiyappanthangal, Porur, Chennai . - S.O. 14(E) - Special Economic Zone

NOTIFICATION NO. S.O. 14(E), DATED 4-1-2012 Whereas, M/s. Estra IT Park Private Limited, had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Mount Poonamalee High Road, Aiyappanthangal, Porur, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu ; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006, had notified an area of 10.194 hectares at above location as Special Economic Zone vide the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 464(E), dated 10th March, 2008; And, whereas, M/s. Estra IT Park Private Limited has proposed to denotify the entire area of 10.194 hectares of above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government has granted letter of approval for denotification of above area on 19th April, 2010; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
