Rescinds the multi-product Special Economic Zone at Village Dhrub, Taluka Mundra, District Kutch in the State of Gujarat. - S.O. 2501 (E). - Special Economic Zone

[THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART-II SECTION 3, SUB-SECTION (II)] MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th October, 2012 S.O. 2501 (E).- Whereas, M/s. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (Formerly, Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited) had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Village Dhrub, Taluka Mundra, District Kutch in the State of Gujarat; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006 , had notified an area of 1840 hectares at above location as Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O.631(E) dated 28th March, 2012; And, whereas, vide Order No. F.1/15/2011 SEZ dated 12th October, 2012 the Central Government has cancelled the formal approval granted for setting up of the above SEZ. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
