Amends Notification No. S.O. 564(E) dated 11th April, 2007 - - S.O. 890(E). - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th April, 2008 S.O. 890(E).- Whereas M/s. Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Vilankurichi, Coimbatore North Taluk, Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, has notified the total area of 11.76 hectares at Vilankurichi, Coimbatore North Taluk, Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Eco nomic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 564(E) dated 11th April, 2007 of Min istry of Commerce and Industry; And whereas M/s. Eler-tronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has proposed to include an additional area of 10.84 hectares at Vilankurichi, Coimbatore North Taluk, Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub- section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are ful filled and it has granted letter of approval under sub section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for development and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at the said Vilankurichi, Coimbatore on 30th July, 2007; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area 01 10,84 hectares at Vilankurichi, Coimbatore North Taluk, . Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely: TABLE SI.
