Amendment in the Notification No. 23/98-CE., dt. 01/08/1998 (Schedule of the Newsprint Control Order, 2004) NOTIFICATION NO. 53/2004-CE DATED 11/10/2004 G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the power conferred by Note 3 to Chapter 48 of the First Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986), the Central Government, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 23/98-Central Excise, dated the 1st August, 1998, published in the Gazette of India, vide G.S.R. 424 (E), dated the 1st August, 1998, namely:- In the said notification, for the figures, letters and words "Schedule I of the Newsprint Control Order, 1962", the figures, letters and words "Schedule of the Newsprint Control Order, 2004", shall be substituted.
