Clarification - date of payment of excise duty, Central Excise

Dear Sir: As we know that excise duty is debited on the 5th day of the next month. Pl confirm it is the same in case of removal of goods as such or duty has to be debited on the same day when goods removed from the factory

Reversal of duty or payment of amount on removal of goods as such from the factory has to be treated at par with payment of excise duty. Rule 8 of the Central Excise Rule has been amended for this purpose.
