In fact, pursuant to the said order passed by the Writ Court, the Public Works Department, without challenging the same, having accepted the said order passed by the Writ Court, issued consequential proceedings dated 12.04.2024, where such a permission had been given to these private respondents to have such amusement rides at Vaigai River. 6. The said move on the part of the Public Works Department in favour of the respondents 11 and 12 has been questioned in this Writ Petition, of course as Public Interest Litigation. 7. But at the same time, it is felt by all concerned that, these kind of amusements activities since being the part of the festival, which is to be conducted for 10 days, can be encouraged, for which instead of permitting them in the river bed, alternative sites can be found out and in those alternative sites, this kind of permission can be granted. 12.
