Registration/Application process to operate under New Sea Cargo Manifest and Transshipment Regulations (SCMTR), 2018 is open at ICEGATE Web Portal https://icegate.gov.in. The SMTP corresponds to a transport document issued to a shipper for a carriage of cargo. The Concept of SMTP referred above is slightly different from present context. Currently, SMTP number is assigned for a Transhipment request by a custodian in the manifest. It could include multiple lines being transhipped rather than a cargo. This posed difficulty in capturing consolidation or segregation of a cargo in customs premises. In this scenario, any cargo manifested for landing into a customs area would be assigned a unique number if not already identified uniquely by customs such as Shipping Bill etc. 3.5.1 Consolidation or Segregation of a Cargo: When there is a consolidation or segregation of a such cargo, the option would be available to capture the modified packaging details.
