The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, Kolkata ruled in favor of the appellant, an authorized foreign money exchanger, who issued a money exchange receipt in advance without receiving the money. The Tribunal found no evidence that the appellant acted as an abetter in an illicit currency procurement case. The impugned order was set aside, and the appeal was allowed with consequential relief to the appellant. (Case citation: 2001 (8) TMI 933 - CEGAT, Kolkata)
