2001 (8) TMI 939 - AT - Customs

The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, Mumbai considered whether the appellant could import knocked down components of vertical machining centres under the "list attested procedure." The Tribunal allowed import of components except the control panel, which was held liable for confiscation. The penalty imposed on the appellant was reduced to Rs. 50,000. Appeal was allowed in part.
