2020 (10) TMI 1040 - HC - CustomsDirection to consider several representations stated to have been filed by the petitioner - HELD THAT - Since proceedings are on-going for assessment it would not be appropriate to consider or grant the mandamus as sought. This writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
The High Court of Madras dismissed the writ petition seeking a Mandamus to direct consideration of representations and re-export of goods covered under a bill of entry. The Customs Department initiated proceedings for assessment of the goods, so the court found it inappropriate to grant the mandamus. Two related writ petitions were also dismissed as withdrawn.
