Article 10 - Insertion of new Article 48-A - Constitution (42nd Amendment) Act, 1976

Insertion of new Article 48-A . 10. After Article 48 of the Constitution, the following article shall be inserted , namely: Protection and improvement of environment and safeguarding of forests and wild life. 48-A. The State shall endeavour to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard the forests and wild life of the country. . *************** NOTES:- 1. Shall come into force, w.e.f. 3rd day of January 1977 vide G.S.R. 2(E), dated 3-1-1977.
