Closure of submission of Bills of Entry in and stopping of Section 48 approvals on account of Union Budget, 2017-18 - Customs - Public Notice No. 04/2017

The Union Budget for FY 2017-18 is expected to be presented in Parliament on 1 st February 2017. As in previous years, after the Budget is presented updation of the ICES Directories would be done by the Directorate General of Systems; New Delhi. 2. Updation of ICES Directories would begin on1 st February 2017 and continue till updation of all Budget Notifications and changes in directories. 3. For updation of budgetary changes in the ICES Directories, the BE filing will be stopped in ICES at 1700 hrs on 1 st February 2017 and Section 48 approvals should be stopped at 1930 hrs on 1 St February 2017. However, system will be available for other functions in ICES. Once the Budget related changes are updated, suitable information TICKERS will be made available on CITRIX as well as CBEC and ICEGATE websites regarding the timing for starting of the regular of Bills of Entry and Section 48 approvals. 4. During the Budget Activity, Shipping Bill filing end processing will continue as usual without any stoppage. If any changes are announced in the Export Duty; and Export Cess during the Budget, it is advised that the concerned Officers/Staff at ACC shall keep a track of the relevant SBS fled on after March 2016 till the directory changes are made online, and export duty/cess be collected manually,' thereon. Similarly- processing of BSE filed before 1700 hrs on 1 st February 2017 will also continue ag usual. Further, field formations should also keep a track for Prior Bills of Entry filed before February for any change of duty liability before giving OOC This issue with the approval of Principal Commissioner of Customs (Import).
