Parameters for postings of officers and Inspectors in the Investigation Wing of the Income Tax Department. - Income Tax - F.No. 286/77/2003- IT (Inv.II)Extract F.No. 286/77/2003- IT (Inv.II) Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue Central Board of Direct Taxes New Delhi, 17th March, 2004. To All Chief Commissioners of Income Tax(Cadre Controlling), All Directors General of Income Tax (Inv.) Sub : Parameters for postings of officers and Inspectors in the Investigation Wing of the Income Tax Department. Sir, In order to have optimal utilization of manpower with focus on E-Governance and Departmental Representation before newly created benches of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, the Board have laid down the following parameters for the posting of officers and inspectors in the Investigation Wing of the Income Tax Department: (a) At headquarters of Director General of Income Tax (Inv.) (i) Addl./Jt./Director of Income Tax (Inv.) 1 (ii) Deputy/Asstt. Director of Income Tax (Inv.) 1 (iii) Income Tax Officer 1 (iv) Income Tax Inspectors 2 (b) At headquarters of Director of Income Tax (Inv.) (i) Depuly/Asstt. Director of Income Tax (Inv.) 1 (ii) Income Tax Officer 1 (iii) Income Tax Inspectors 1 (c) In the Unit headed by Addl./Joint Director of Income Tax (Inv.) (i) Income Tax Officer 1 (ii) Income Tax Inspectors 2 (d) With the Deputy/Assistant Director of Income Tax (Inv.) in the Unit Income Tax Inspector (e) Air Intelligence Units (AIUs) functioning at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore Chennai (i) Deputy/Asstt. Director of Income Tax (Inv.) 1 (ii) Income Tax Officer 1 (iii) Income Tax Inspectors 8 2. Number of filed units headed by Addl./Joint Director of Income Tax (Inv.) and number of Deputy/Assistant Directors of Income Tax (Inv.) to be posted in these units have been specified in Annexure A for each charge of Director General of Income Tax (Inv.). This annexure also given the details of total number of officers and inspectors as per above parameters to be posted under each Director General of Income Tax (Inv.). 3. Directors General of Income Tax (Inv.) may review and decide at their level as to at which places the Addl./Joint Directors of Income Tax (Inv.) and Deputy/Asstt. Directors of Income Tax (Inv.) are to be stationed. 4. All Cadre Controlling Chief Commissioners of Income Tax are requested to shift the excess posts from the Investigation Wing to other charges of their region (not in Central Charges). Further, in the region where Central Charges are also functioning under Director General of Income Tax (Inv.), the excess officers and inspectors from the investigation wing can be posted to the Central Charges only with the consent of the Cadre Controlling Chief Commissioners of Income Tax. 5. Any deviation from above parameters can be carried out only with the prior approval of the Board. 6. These parameters are applicable w.e.f. 1.4.2004. All Cadre Controlling Chief Commissioners of Income Tax and Directors General of Income Tax (Inv.) should send compliance report to the Board by 30th April, 2004.
