Monthly meetings of I.A.C.(Judicial), I.A.C(Audit) and Senior Authorised Representative. - Income Tax - 1536/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1536/CBDT Dated: November 17, 1983 Attention is invited to the Minutes of the Commissioners Conference held in 1983 wherein it was decided that monthly meetings of I.A.C.(Judicial), I.A.C(Audit) and Senior Authorised Representative be held to review the cases which have been examined by them during the course of their official functions and guidelines be issued to the Income-tax Officers in consultation with the Commissioners so that the infirmities in the assessments which resulted either in the additions not being sustained before the appellate authorities or in mistakes being commonly committed by the officers could be more effectively dealt with. 2. The Board, therefore, desire that Chief Commissioners/Commissioners should convene such meetings once a month and issue guidelines for the benefit of the officers based on the discussions in such meetings. 3. The above instructions may please be brought to the notice of the officers working under you.
