To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Petroleum and Petrochemicals at Jamnagar in the State of Gujarat - S.O. 873 (E) - Special Economic Zone

Ministry of Commerce and Industry Department of Commerce New Delhi Dated 04 June 2007 S.O. 873 (E) - Whereas M/s. Reliance Infrastructure Limited, a private organisation in the State of Gujarat, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , hereinafter referred to as the Act, to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Petroleum and Petrochemicals at Jamnagar in the State of Gujarat; And whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , has notified the total area of 440.08 hectares at Jamnagar in the State of Gujarat as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry vide Notification number S.O. 568 (E) dated the 19th April, 2006; And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; And whereas M/s Reliance Infrastructure Limited has proposed for the transfer of the approval to M/s Reliance Jamnagar Infrastructure Limited at Jamnagar in the State of Gujarat and the Central Government after considering the said transfer proposal approved it and conveyed such transfer of approval on 10th January, 2007 in view of the change of name of M/s Reliance Infrastructure Limited to M/s Reliance Jamnagar Infrastructure Limited; And whereas the Central Government has approved the conversion of petroleum and petrochemicals Special Economic Zone into multi-product Special Economic Zone and conveyed approval of such conversion on 9th May, 2007; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 784.0296 hectares at Jamnagar in the State of Gujarat comprising of the Survey numbers and the areas given below in the Table, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely; - Table Sl.
