MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Economic Affairs) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 19th February, 2002 S.O. 215(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), read with rule 3 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1992, the Central Government hereby appoints Shri G. N. Bajpai, Chairman, Life Insurance Corporation of India as the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India for a period of three years from the date he assumes charge of office of Chairman or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
