Securities and Exchange Board of India (Employees' Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012 - LAD-NRO/GN/2012-13/03/5290 - SEBIExtract SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 02 nd May, 2012 Securities and Exchange Board of India (Employees Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012 F. NO. LAD-NRO/GN/2012-13/03/5290.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), the Board hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Employees Service) Regulations, 2001, namely:- 1. These regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Employees Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012. 2. These regulations shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 3. In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Employees Service) Regulations, 2001, - (i) in regulation 6, in sub-regulation (1), in clause (ba), for the words and Junior Library Assistant , the symbol and words , Junior Library Assistant and Junior Engineer shall be substituted; (ii) in regulation 16, in sub-regulation (2), (a) the words except promotions to Officer Grade C and Officer Grade E shall be substituted with the words except promotions up to Officer Grade C ; (b) in clause (a) the words and Library Assistants shall be substituted with the symbol and words , Library Assistants, Junior Secretarial Assistants, Junior Accounts Assistants, Junior Library Assistants and Junior Engineers ; (iii) in regulation 27, in sub-regulation (1), in clause (d), after the words Maternity Leave the words or Paternity Leave, as the case may be shall be inserted; (iv) after regulation 40, the following new regulation shall be inserted, namely:- Paternity Leave 40A. (1) Paternity Leave may be granted to a male Staff member (natural father), with less than two surviving children, during the confinement of his wife for child birth, for a period of fifteen days per child, from fifteen days prior to the delivery or up to six months from the date of such delivery. (2) Paternity Leave may also be granted to a male employee (adoptive father), with less than two surviving children, who has adopted a child through proper legal process, for a period of fifteen days per child within six months from the date of adoption. (3) During the period of Paternity Leave, the employee shall be paid leave pay. (4) Paternity Leave may be combined with any kind of leave other than Casual Leave and Special Casual Leave. (5) The employee shall avail the entire Paternity Leave at one time during the eligible period as mentioned in sub-regulations (1) and (2), as the case may be. (v) in schedule to clause (b) of sub-regulation (4) of regulation 6, after row number 9, the following row shall be inserted :- Junior Engineer Direct Recruitment Up to 28 years Diploma in any engineering stream as may be required by the Board from time to time - - Minimum three members -two internal and one external U.K. SINHA, Chairman [ADVAT.III/4/69-ZB/12/Exty.] Footnotes: 1.
