SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 12th February, 1997 S.O. 105 (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by subjection (1) of section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992) the Board hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995. 1. (i) These regulations may be called the SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Amendment Regulations, 1997. (ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In sub-clause (ii) of clause (d) of Regulation 6, the words, and its proprietary funds, if any be inserted after the words broad based funds . 3. In sub-clause (iii) of clause (d) of Regulation 6, the words, and its proprietary funds, if any be inserted after the words broad based funds . 4. In clause (b) of sub-regulation 1 of regulation 13 the words or proprietary fund be inserted after the words broad based fund . 5. After the second proviso to sub-regulation (2) of regulation 15, an Explanation be inserted as follows : Explanation ; For the purposes of the provisos to this sub-regulation, the expression debt securities shall include related Government securities.
