To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology, hardware and bio-informatics at Mahindra World City , Taluk Chengalpattu. Kancheepuram District, in the State of Tamil Nadu. MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 15th October, 2008 S.O. 2455(E). Whereas M/s. Mahindra World City Developers Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology, hardware and bio-informatics at Mahindra World City, Taluk Chengalpattu. Kancheepuram District, in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, has notified the total area of 262.13.8 hectares at Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District, in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 846 (E), dated 30th May, 2007; And whereas, M/s. Mahindra World City Developers Limited has proposed to include an additional area of 8.65.50 hectares at Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And whereas, M/s. Mahindra World City Developers Limited has also proposed to de-notify an area of 6.63 hectares at Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval for additional area of 8.65.50 and also reduction of 6.63 hectares from the notified Special Economic Zone for information technology, hardware and bio-informatics sector at Chengalpattu Taluk, on 16th August, 2007 and 10th March, 2008 respectively; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 8.65.50 hectares to be a part of the said Special Economic Zone comprising of the Survey numbers, given in Table A and de-notifies an area of 6.63 hectares, comprising of the Survey numbers, given in Table B at Chengalpattu Taluk Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu, Table A Sl No. Name of the Village Survey Number Ares (in hectares) (1) (2) (3) (4) 1.
