Central Excise (Eighth Amendment) Rules, 1991 Notification No. 34/91-C.E. (N.T.) Dated 30-10-1991 In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Eighth Amendment) Rules, 1991. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In Rule 2 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, in clause (iia) for sub-clauses (i) and (k), the following sub-clauses shall be substituted respectively, namely :- "(i) (i) the Collector of Central Excise, Bhubaneswar; (ii) the Collector of Central Excise, Bolpur; (iii) the Collector of Central Excise, Calcutta-I; (iv) the Collector of Central Excise, Calcutta-II; (v) the Collector of Central Excise, Patna; (vi) the Collector of Central Excise, Shillong; the Collector of Central Excise (Appeals), Calcutta."; (k) (i) "the Collector of Central Excise, Allahabad; (ii) the Collector of Central Excise, Kanpur; the Collector of Central Excise (Appeals), Allahabad."
