Exemption to sugar from Additional duty Notification No. 28/87-C.E. Dated 1-3-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, read with sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957 (58 of 1957), the Central Government hereby exempts sugar falling under sub-heading No. 1701.39 of the First Schedule to the said Act from so much of the additional duty of excise leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of Rs. 26 per quintal.
