Sir,

Rule 12 of Central Excise Rules, 2002 has been amended by Notification No. 8/2016-CE (NT) dated 1.3.2016 to prescribe one annual return in the place of ER.5. ER.6 and ER.7. This Notification will come into effect from 1.4.2016. Therefore if any of the returns mentioned by you are to be filed on or after 1.4.2016, you need not file those returns. Instead you have to file the annual return on or before 30.11.2016.

Dear Sir,

NO. Effective date of notification is 1.4.16. It is expected that Board will cover the requisite information in Annual Return while issuing another notification.Govt. have sufficient time as last date of Annual Return for 15-16 is 30.11.2016. So Financial Year 2015-16 will be covering the whole information. Annual Return will be more comprehensive.

Sir, this is a good initiative taken by the government. I guess what details the department were collecting in various different return, they would now be incorporating those requirements in one annual return. Thus the return would be more elaborative and in detail.

Anyway the requirement of filing various returns as mentioned by the querist in his query is dispensed with.

Thanks.
