To create an user id for filing Returns Online, it is necessary to know our SURNAME as per Income Tax Database.
It is also difficult to view our SURNAME by using the menu KNOW YOUR PAN in the income tax webpage, though we have the PAN card copy, since this asks for Surname, DOB, Fathers Name & Father's Father Name.
Is there any other source to view our Surname as per IT records.

If you PAN card does not bear surname, it means no surmane exists in income tax date base and only last word of your name would be treated as surname. Like Shri Krishna, the surname would be Krishna.
U can visit of site incometaxindia.gov.in where u can select online payment option and in that select taxe payment and after filing the form u can find the name as per ITD data.
