Dear Sir,

 can some body can guide the following:

 whether an NRI can submit Form 15G or 15H for non-deduction of tax from his/her interest  earned from NRO rupee deposits.

Different views or articles come in the papers and magazines.

Can somebody guide correct position.

Section 197A refer to Non-deduction of TDS. Section 197A refers for the resident assessee. Section 197A has refered to such forms as 15G or 15H.

Hence NRI is not eligible to submit 15G or 15H.

Residents are only eligible for submission of 15G or 15H. Non Residents are not eligible for the same
