The appellant has further stated that only a fee of Rs. 2.00 as prescribed under the RTI (Regulations of Fee and Cost Rules, 2005) should be charged by PIO. The appellant has taken several other grounds in his appeal challenging the demand of additional cost of Rs. 6,83,340/- as un-reasonable and un-realistic, the basis of which has not been provided to the appellant. He has also cited several decisions in support of his claim that only Rs. 2.00 per page of documents is chargeable and no searching fee is leviable. The exercise to collect the called for information has also benefited the Registry in having upto date information regarding appeals which have not been finally heard within 180 days of granting the stay order and it is seen that in most of these cases, the appellants have also not filed any application for extension of stay. 8. Considering all aspects of this case and taking into account the fact that two officials have been employed especially for 15 days to collect the required information and taking into account the fact that the Registry has also partly benefited from the exercise, I am of the considered opinion that it would be justified tha .....
