Issue of certified copy of (or) authenticated photocopy of gate pass against original gate pass - In case original gate pass is lost or misplaced - Regarding Circular No. 25/92-CX.8 Dated 15-12-1992 [From F.No. 267/69/91-CX.8] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Issue of certified copy of (or) authenticated photocopy of gate pass against original gate pass - In case original gate pass is lost or misplaced - Regarding. I am directed to invite your attention to the Board's Circular No. 40/82-CX.6, dated 30-11-1982 and Circular No. 44/86-CX.6, dated 29-10-1986 , wherein procedure for availing of Proforma/Modvat Credit in case the original GP1 is lost in transit, has been prescribed and to say that in view of the decision to extend the facility for making endorsements on the GP1's and the amendment to Rule 57G(4) of Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Board after examining the issue has decided to withdraw the above referred instructions forthwith. 2. Consequently, no credit would be allowed based on the 'Certified Copy' (or) 'Authenticated Photocopy' of the original GP1 on the ground that the Original GP1 is lost. And also no subsidiary GP1 would be issued based on these copies. 3. Action may please be taken accordingly. 4. Trade and field formations may be informed. 5. Kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter.
