Central Government de-notifies an area of 529.4586 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 1152.9445 hectares at Village Dahej, Ambheta, Luvara, Suva, Lakhigam and Jageshwar in Taluk Vagra, District Bharuch in the State of Gujarat - S.O. 1983(E). - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1st May, 2025 S.O. 1983(E). Whereas, M/s. Dahej SEZ Limited, a Joint venture of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation and Oil and Natural Gas Commission Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Village Dahej, Ambheta, Luvara, Suva, Lakhigam and Jageshwar in Taluk Vagra, District Bharuch in the State of Gujarat; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified/partially de-notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zone as details given below in the table: - Sl. Dahej SEZ Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 529.4586 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Gujarat has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. IC/INFRA/SEZ/NOC/1814784 dated 22th June, 2022. Further, the land proposed for partial de-notification is needed back to Government of Gujarat for Public purpose; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Dahej Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 529.4586 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 529.4586 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 1152.9445 hectares.
