Appointment of Deputy Collector of Customs, Kandla as Central Excise Officer Notification No. 4/88-C.E. (N.T.) Dated 28-1-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), read with rule 4 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby appoints the Deputy Collector of Customs, Kandla, as Central Excise Officer, and invests the said Deputy Collector with all the powers of an Additional Collector of Central Excise under the said Act and the rules made thereunder to be exercised in the area comprising the Kandla Free Trade Zone. Explanation. - For the purposes of this notification, the Kandla Free Trade Zone shall have the same meaning as in clause (viia) of rule 2 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944.
