Amendment to Notification No. 280/79-C.E. Notification No. 84/88-C.E. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, (Department of Revenue) No. 280/79-Central Excises, dated the 30th October, 1979, namely :- In the said notification, the following paragraph shall be inserted at the end, namely :- "2. Nothing contained in this notification shall apply to a manufacturer who avails of the exemption in respect of tows of polyester under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 53/87-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1987."
