Amends Notification No. 38/87-C.E. Notification No. 170/87-C.E. Dated 17-6-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 38/87-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1987, namely :- In the said notification, for the Explanation, the following Explanation shall be substituted, namely :- 'Explanation. - For the purposes of this notification, - (i) "catalysts" shall include compounds of the metals for making such catalysts; and (ii) in the case of platinum, "catalysts" shall also include the ingots of platinum.'.
