Exemption u/s 35AC - of the ITA, 1961, the C.G. had specified various institutions as an eligible project or scheme NOTIFICATION NO. 222/2006, DATED 4-9-2006 S.O. 1404(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of the Explanation to section 35 AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government on the recommendations of the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, hereby approves the institutions mentioned in column (2) of the Table below and specifies the eligible projects or schemes and the estimated cost thereof as mentioned in column. Islampur Ramkrishnapally Rural Welfare Society, AT- Ramkrishnapally, P O P.S. - Islampur, District- Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal- 733202. Adult women education programme. ₹ 39 lakh for financial years 2006-07 2007-08 i.e for two years only. 4. To start new courses for students of economically weaker section. ₹ 14.61 crore for financial year 2006-07 i.e for one year only. 5. Community outreach programmes (free education cum day care, aged care programme medicine programme, self help skill training for rural youth and women.). ₹ 4.78 crore for financial years 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 i.e for three years only. 6. Vasantrao Naik Shikshan Prasark Mandal, Air Port Road, CIDCO, Aurangabad -431003. Education for the marginalized .students belonging to denotified/nomadic/tribal groups/most disadvantaged sections of society. ₹ 39.64 crore for financial years 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 i.e for three years only. (i) Eradication of child- labour and drop-outs working in hazardous and non-hazardous Conditions and achieving social justice. (ii) To improve employment opportunity by way of undertaking plantation of tree born oil for the families of child labour who stay in hilly areas. (iii) To provide dwelling units for semi-nomadic tribal groups which are not yet settled. 7. Swami Vivekananda Rural Development Society, 12(43), Ramanujam Street, T. Nagar, Chennai -600017. Running of 400 non-formal (primary) education centres for 6-12 years age group. ₹ 529.42 lakh for financial years 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 i.e. for three years only. 11. Reconstruction of 100 bed hospital for leprosy patients. ₹ 1.50 crore for financial years 2006-07, 2007-08 2008-09 i.e for three years only. 15.
