Important cases heard in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, April 9: * HC dismissed a PIL seeking directions to the authorities to protect peacocks from electrocution. * HC said a plea, seeking to increase the number of ministers in Delhi government from the existing council of seven, required consideration. * HC reserved its order on a batch of petitions, which alleged certain errors in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG-2025 questionnaire. * The Enforcement Directorate opposed in the HC pleas by Congress MP Karti Chidambaram seeking directions to defer hearing on framing of charges in the trial court in two money laundering cases. * A passenger travelling in train is himself responsible for the safe keeping of his luggage and Railways was not liable for any theft unless there was negligence or misconduct by officials, the HC said. * HC directed social media platforms X Corp and Instagram to take down certain posts carrying an objectionable video of BJP leader Shazia Ilmi in which she was seen withdrawing herself from a live debate of a news channel and moving out of the shooting frame. * HC refused to grant bail to separatist leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a terror-funding case involving Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed.
