Date: 16.04.2019 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 27/2019 Sub: Denotifying a part of Container Freight Station, CWC Virugambakkam - Regarding Attention of the Steamer Agents, Importers, Exporters and their representatives (Customs Brokers) is invited to this Custom House Public Notice No. 75/91 dated 07.03.1991 declaring the premises of Container Freight Station, CWC Virugambakkam situated at No.105, Arcot Road, Virugambakkam, Chennai- 600092 comprising 23.66 acres as Customs Area for the purpose of examination, unloading/destuffing of all FCL containers containing imported goods and also for loading of export cargo into containers. 2. As per request of the said CFS, this Commissionerate had de-notified Shed No. VII and VIII i.e covered area of 5,243 Sq. mtrs and open area of 6,841 Sq. mtrs totally 12,084 Sq. mtrs (2.986 Acres) vide Public Notice No. 181/2014 dated 02.12.2014; de-notified Shed No. and Il i.e covered area of 8,360 Sq.mtrs and open area of 7,588 Sq.mtrs totally 15,948 Sq.mtrs (3.9408 Acres) vide Public Notice No. 101/2016 dated 04.04.2016; de-notified Shed No. i.e covered area of 4,180 Sq.mtrs and open area of 7,102 Sq.mtrs totally 11,282 Sq.mtrs (2.7878 Acres) vide Public Notice No. 234/2017 dated 31.10.2017 and de-notified Shed No. Xl i.e covered area of 3,512 Sq.mtrs and open area of 5,170 Sq.mtrs totally 8,682 Sq.mtrs (2.1454 Acres) vide Public Notice No. 09/2019 dated 28.01.2019. 3. Now on the request of M/S. Central Warehousing Corporation, Virugambakkam dated 19.02.2019, I, Dr. Anil K. Nigam, Commissioner of Customs, (Chennai-VIII, Custom House, Chennai, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 8(b) of the Customs Act , 1962 denotify another 4,611 Sq.mtrs (1.1394 Acres) of Customs Area (2,229 Sq.mtrs of covered area consisting Shed No. IV and 2,382 Sq.mtrs of open area) covering Survey No.s 206 from handling of any Customs Cargo. 4. After this de-notification of 4,611 Sq.mtrs (1.1394 Acres), the remaining notified Customs Area in the said CFS is 8,829 Sq.mtrs of covered area end 34,312 Sq.mtrs of open area i.e totally 43,141 Sq.mtrs (10.6604 Acres). 5.
