TN leads India with highest growth percentage, says CM Stalin

Chennai, Apr 5 (PTI) Tamil Nadu leads the nation with 9.69 per cent growth, the highest in India, Chief Minister M K Stalin said on Saturday.

More commendable was the fact that the state has managed to achieve this with an unwavering focus on inclusivity, gender equality and geographical spread of growth, he said.

"Driven by sound fundamentals, steady governance and a clear strategic vision, our Dravidian Model is shaping the future of our State and people. We are powering ahead on our pursuit of a $1 trillion economy with vigour and determination!" the CM said in a post on the social media platform 'X'.

This highest economic growth rate has been possible due to the consistent efforts of the ‘Dravidian Model’ government led by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said reacting to the latest statistics.

He said the data from the Union Statistics and Programme Implementation Ministry on the state achieving 9.69 per cent economic growth, underlined the height that Tamil Nadu has reached again after 10 years.

In a post on X, Udhayanidhi said, “amidst the bias shown by the Union Government in the allocation of funds, this figure is a testimony to the success of the schemes planned by our Chief Minister.” “We are happy that Tamil Nadu is walking towards the goal of becoming a trillion dollar economy,” he added.
