Amaravati, May 2 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that all the five crore people of the state are with him in his fight against terrorism. The CM extended this support during the relaunching of Amaravati greenfield capital city construction works by PM Modi. "We are pledging that we will stand by PM Modi and the central government's every move to crackdown on terrorism," said Naidu, addressing the public meeting. Naidu told PM Modi that the five crore people of Andhra Pradesh and the entire country are with him. Naidu briefly switched to Hindi in his speech, reading out: "Modiji, hum apke saath hai, Andhra Pradesh ke panch crore log apke saath hain, poora desh apke saath hain". Later, the public meeting reverberated to the chants of 'Vandemataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', called by Naidu. Twenty-six people, mostly tourists, were gunned down by terrorists at the Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam on April 22, in one of the worst terror attacks on civilians in Kashmir in the past many years. Naidu said that he saw the sorrow of the Pahalgam attack on Modi when he recently went to New Delhi to invite him for Amaravati construction relaunch. The CM observed that Modi is generally a very happy person, but the terror attack made him look serious. According to the TDP supremo, a key NDA ally, PM Modi is the "right leader for India at the right time". The CM highlighted that India is emerging as a strong economic power under the leadership of Modi. Naidu said that India had ranked at the 10th position globally economically in 2014 when Modi first became the PM, but in 11 years, he said the PM took it to the fifth position. As per IMF projections, India will surpass Japan this year to become the fourth largest economy, and will overtake Germany to become the third largest by 2027, he said. PM Modi's welfare, development and empowerment model has transformed India, noted the TDP supremo, adding that 15 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. Observing that the PM puts the nation first in every decision, Naidu welcomed the Union Cabinet's decision to conduct a caste census. Naidu noted that the decision to include caste enumeration in the forthcoming census is a "big game changer", which will pave the way for "inclusive empowerment". Delving on Amaravati, Naidu promised to build it in a manner reflecting the hopes and aspirations of people, observing that Amaravati is not just a city, but the "emotional and aspirational identity of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh". Amaravati will be developed as a blue-green city with 30 per cent green and water spaces, including Japan's Miyawaki-style afforestation as suggested by Modi, he said. Further, the CM said just as the high-tech city in Hyderabad was built with former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee support, the "Quantum Valley" in Amaravati will be built with Modi support. At the relaunching ceremony, Naidu extended an invitation to Modi to come back after three years for the inauguration of the capital city. Not just the restart of works, but even the grand inauguration of Amaravati will be done by Prime Minister Modi, he said. "I am very happy to inform you sir (Modi). Today we had MoUs with TCS and IBM and also L&T. We are starting here (quantum valley)," said Naidu, recalling that the PM started quantum mission in 2023. Further, Naidu said PM Modi will attend the International Yoga Day on June 21 in Andhra Pradesh. Later, in his address, the prime minister thanked Naidu for inviting him and promised to attend the International Yoga Day in Vizag. Meanwhile, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan thanked the farmers who gave their lands for Amaravati and promised that their struggles and sacrifices would not be forgotten. Foreseeing that Amaravati would become a world-class capital, the actor-politician exuded confidence that youth from the state need not migrate to Hyderabad and Bengaluru for jobs. Kalyan thanked Modi for making time for the relaunch programme, especially in the backdrop of the Pahalgam attack. "At a time when the whole country is going towards war. During this crucial time, the PM came here not to forget the sacrifices of Amaravati farmers," he said. Kalyan called on everybody to thank the PM for this presence in Amaravati. Following Kalyan's speech, Modi briefly called him and handed over a lozenge as the Janasena founder was coughing a few times during his speech. Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that not just one, but even if 100 Pakistans come they cannot even pluck a grass strand in India. He said Pakistan made a big mistake by crossing the border and killing innocent people. "We have a missile which can answer 100 Pakistans. Do you know which missile is that? NaMo, respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi," said Lokesh, adding that silly games should not be played in front of a lion. If someone indulges in such games, he said Modi's strike would result in the vanishing of Pakistan from the world map. According to Lokesh, some people working in the Pakistan Army have resigned while some went on leave because of Modi. He said the entire nation stands with PM Modi. PTI STH GDK KH Source: PTI |
