Regulatory Compliance Extended: SEBI Postpones ODI and FPI Provisions to November 2025 for Smoother Market Adaptation

May 19, 2025

Circulars     SEBI

SEBI extended the implementation timeline for provisions related to Offshore Derivative Instruments (ODIs) and Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) from the original December 17, 2024 circular. The new implementation deadline is set for November 17, 2025, based on representations from market participants. This extension aims to ensure smooth regulatory compliance and provides additional time for depositories to establish necessary systems and procedures. The extension was issued under SEBI's statutory powers to protect investor interests and regulate securities markets, with all other original circular provisions remaining unchanged.
