No. S/3-Misc-PRO-13/2018-19 ACC(I) Date: 02.05.2019 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 08/2019 Subject: Simplification of procedure for payment of Customs Duty, Amendment Fee and other Government Dues. The Trade, Importers and Customs Brokers are hereby informed that it has been decided that for payment of customs duty, interest, amendment fees or any other government dues to be paid by the Importer, henceforth, there will be no requirement of signatures of any customs officer on the Manual Challan. The Cash Section shall not insist for such signatures and shall accept all such payments rendered by the importer/Customs Broker. 2. Subsequently, the importers / Customs Broker may submit the copy of Manual Challan, duly received by Cash Section, to the concerned Group/Section further action, if any. 3. The above instructions shall not be applicable for the payment made in respect of surrender of MEIS benefits, as the procedure for the same has been laid down in Public Notice No.07/2019 dated 02.05.2019 . 4. The content of this Public Notice shall be treated as Standing Order by the concerned Sections/Officers. 5. Any difficulty may be brought to the notice of undersigned.
